How I evolved as an author?
A writer becomes an author when his/her work gets published.
In the modern-day world, one doesn't need to wait for months and years to get published.
With self-publishing platforms, anyone can become an author.
One only needs what it takes to thrive in the market.
Throughout this transition from writer to self-published author, there were things I didn't know before.
Things like creating a great cover, formatting, releasing, and marketing the book—that traditional marketing services generally provide—you have to do on your own.
Having a 9-6 job also doesn't make the task easier.
Instead of treating it as a burden, I have accepted it and challenged myself to work through it.
I have learned things and used the right connections to smoothen the process—which you can see for yourself, the book cover, and the map of the nation.
For the formatting, I have used 'Reedsy.'
For releasing the book, I have used the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform.
And about the marketing—an unending learning process at which I am doing my level best—I reached you and hopefully many more!
Parallelly, doing a software job and working on the book made me mad, and I had many restless nights due to this.
A lot of times, I thought of giving up.
But when I look back on the journey now, despite the hurdles, I can safely say that I am proud of where I am now.
I made mistakes but learned from it; I lost willpower but regained it; I got tired mentally but rejuvenated quickly.
It's all because of the passion I have and the support people like you gave.
And I want you to take this lesson close to your heart and move ahead in the paths you have chosen for yourselves.
But before you go, have a look at my book, "The Lone Mystery: who is TUM?"—about which I talked for so long.
